Spotlight Story Posters

Program Overview
June 22nd - June 25th
Grades 2 - 6

11am - 2:30pm
Spotlight Story Posters for Grades 2–6 is a four-day literacy enrichment program where students transform a story or film they previously created into a professional style movie poster designed to captivate an audience.
In this one hour per day experience, students analyze real poster elements, summarize plot, identify key characters and conflicts, craft persuasive taglines, and design visually compelling layouts that combine strong writing with purposeful imagery. Younger students focus on clear summaries and descriptive details, while older students deepen their work with stronger organization, audience awareness, and evidence-based opinion writing.
The week culminates in Spotlight Presentations where students confidently share their posters, explaining their creative choices and celebrating growth in writing, visual literacy, and public speaking.
