Little Nature Snapshots

Program Overview
June 1st - June 4th
Grades K - 1

11am - 2:30pm
Little Nature Snapshots is a four-day hands on summer program for kindergarten and first grade students that invites children to explore the world around them through science, photography, and early literacy.
Throughout the week, students learn to distinguish between living and nonliving things based on observable characteristics, participate in an outdoor photo walk using tablets to document their discoveries, and use sentence frames to explain their thinking in complete sentences. By printing and organizing their own photographs, students create a simple nonfiction book that showcases their understanding of living and nonliving things while strengthening oral language, early writing, and responsible technology skills.
The program culminates in an Author Day celebration where students proudly share their published photo books, building confidence as young scientists and storytellers.
