Money Matters Cafe

Program Overview
June 8th - June 11th
Grades 2 - 6
Mon - Thurs 11:00am - 2:30pm

Money Matters Café is a four-day summer program for grades 2–6 where students build real world money skills by creating and running their own restaurant.
In this one hour per day experience, students practice identifying and counting coins and bills, adding and subtracting money amounts, calculating totals, and making correct change through engaging role play and hands on customer scenarios. Older students can extend learning by solving multi step problems with decimals and optionally calculating a tip, while younger students focus on accuracy, strategies, and confidence with everyday transactions.
The week culminates in a Family Restaurant Event where parents order from student designed menus and students proudly serve as cashiers, practicing math, communication, and independence in a fun and meaningful setting.
